Height image of a phase-separated lipid bilayer (DOPC / SM / cholesterol) in liquid. The background liquid disordered phase is around 1 nm lower than the liquid ordered islands. AFM and fluorescence imaging in liquid in-situ on a Zeiss LSM 510 Meta.
